Library
What your organisation gives StoriBot: skills, rules, agents, presets, memory, and its voice and brand reference files. It is the Library page in the app, one tab per kind.
Everything in the Library is shared by the whole organisation. A Stori picks up what it needs from it when it is made, and StoriBot reads the memory, voice and brand files at the start of every session.
You do not have to write any of it
Section titled “You do not have to write any of it”StoriBot can make and change everything in the Library. Ask it, in the chat, and it writes the file and asks you to approve before saving. Each save shows a yes or no card, so nothing lands in the Library that you did not see.
The two ways people use this:
- Set it up. “Set up my brand and voice from our website.” “Make a preset for board reporting.” “Write a rule that every figure carries its source.” StoriBot drafts it, shows you, and saves on a yes.
- Improve it after a job. When a Stori is done, ask: “What would you change in the skill for next time?” StoriBot proposes the change, and on a yes saves it as a company skill. A company skill with the same id as a platform skill replaces it, so you can take one of ours and make it yours without starting from a blank file.
The more work StoriBot does for your organisation, the more of this it carries: the rules you set, the skills it refined, what it remembers. That is what makes the second quarterly faster than the first.
Skills
Section titled “Skills”What StoriBot knows how to do. A skill is a written method for one kind of work: an ASX quarterly for a mining producer, an investor presentation, an Excel workbook, an HTML email.
- Platform skills come with StoriBot, grouped into series. An admin chooses which series the organisation has switched on under Skills, then Manage series. The default series is always on, and every new Stori starts with it.
- Company skills are yours. Upload one, or ask StoriBot to write or improve one. A company skill with the same id as a platform skill replaces it, so you can take a method of ours and make it yours.
Platform skills are read-only in the app. To change one, ask StoriBot; the copy it saves is a company skill.
Standing instructions StoriBot follows whenever they are loaded: house style, must-dos and must-nots. A rule is short and absolute. “Every figure carries its source.” “Never name a customer in an external document.”
A rule reaches a Stori through a preset.
Agents
Section titled “Agents”Specialists StoriBot can hand part of a job to, each with its own instructions. A reviewer that checks a draft against the listing rules, say, or a researcher that reads the announcements first.
An agent reaches a Stori through a preset.
Presets
Section titled “Presets”A named bundle of skills, rules and agents a new Stori can start from. “Quarterly reporting” might carry the ASX quarterly skills, the house-style rules and the reviewer agent. When you make a Stori, StoriBot picks the preset that fits, or you choose one.
Every Stori also gets the default skills, whichever preset it starts from. Rules and agents only ever arrive through a preset.
Memory
Section titled “Memory”A single file StoriBot reads at the start of every session: what it should already know about your company before you say a word. StoriBot writes it when it learns something worth keeping, with your approval, and you can read and change it here. See Memory.
Voice and brand
Section titled “Voice and brand”Two sets of reference files that every Stori builder reads before it writes or lays anything out.
- Voice is how your company writes: tone, writing style, sample copy, and words or phrases to avoid.
- Brand is how things look: colours, type, logo and visual style.
StoriBot can draft both from your website. Ask it, or say yes when it offers. It reads a few pages and the stylesheet, shows you the fonts, palette, logo and three lines on your voice, and saves the files only when you say so. You can also upload your own; uploading over the same name replaces the file.
One thing to know. StoriBot has a default voice file and a default brand file, and they carry more than identity: chart and number formatting, spacing, the writing craft. Once your organisation has a file in a category, StoriBot’s default for that category is no longer used. So a brand file that holds only a logo and two colours loses the rest. When StoriBot drafts the file it keeps every craft section and changes only what is yours. If you write your own, start from the default and do the same.
Builders started after the files are saved use them. A Stori already being built keeps what it loaded.
