Sharing
Share a Stori with a link: public, by access code, or organisation only. Choose the pages, set an expiry, and let viewers comment.
Open the share dialog on a Stori and choose Create new share link. A Stori can have several links at once, each with its own audience and settings, so the board and the team can see different things.
Who can open it
Section titled “Who can open it”| Audience | Who sees it |
|---|---|
| Public (anyone with link) | Anyone who has the link. |
| Access code | People who have the link and its code. Name them, and each gets the link and the code by email. Tick Require authentication to view and they must also sign in. |
| Organisation only | Members of your organisation, signed in. |
You can generate a new access code, copy it, or change who is invited after the link is made. Each link in the dialog shows its audience and whether sign-in is required.
What viewers see
Section titled “What viewers see”A link shows a copy of the Stori, taken when you made the link. Later changes to the Stori do not reach viewers until you choose Refresh charts and data for current state on that link. So you decide when the board sees the new numbers.
On each link you can also:
- Choose the pages. Hide a page on that link, and change their order. Reset puts every page back, in the Stori’s order.
- Set an expiry date. The link stops working at 23:59 on the day you choose.
- Include audit files. Viewers can then see how each chart was built and where its figures came from. It also shows how the work was prompted, so turn it on deliberately.
Comments
Section titled “Comments”Tick Allow viewers to comment and viewers can leave comments and pin them to a spot on a page. Comments are available on access-code and organisation-only links, not public ones.
You read every comment on the Stori itself. Reply, mark a thread as addressed (it stays visible to viewers), or reopen it. Send this thread to chat hands the comment to StoriBot, so “This trend looks off after March” becomes the next change it makes.
Stopping a share
Section titled “Stopping a share”Delete the link from the share dialog and it stops working at once. A link can also be locked in the app, so that nothing, StoriBot included, can change or delete it until someone unlocks it.
StoriBot can make and change share links for you in the chat. It always asks first.
